The Department of Health and Medical Laboratory Techniques at University of Alkafeel held a workshop on "Proper Use of Ethidium Bromide Dye and its Disposal" on Monday, November 27, 2023, in the seminar hall, presented by Asst. lectur. Nada Iyad Mohammed Ali and Asst. lecturer Banin Abdul Hussein Rashid. The workshop aimed to apply safety procedures in using ethidium bromide dye, understanding its mechanism of action, applying safety measures while working with it, and methods of disposal. The workshop concluded with recommendations to be cautious when using ethidium bromide dye and to remove the dye from used tools before discarding them or reusing them for another purpose.
