Under the auspices of the University's Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nawras Aldahan, the Faculty of Law held a workshop on "Equality and Non-Discrimination in Election" on Monday, November 14, 2022.  

  Prof. Dr. Shamil Al-Mousawi presented the workshop where he stressed the necessity of having one electoral vote for each voter and that the electoral tables should be edited in an organized and accurate manner so that the citizen can vote once and in one place.      

    He, also, concentrated on General Rule in the Democratic World: Each voter, male and female should have one vote. 

    Democratic countries have followed systems whereby some voters enjoy more than one vote, as the theory of multiple votes appeared and gave some individuals the right to vote several times because of its special advantages. 

    This leads to making the election unequal. As the principle of equality has a very important role in protecting all rights and freedoms stipulated in the Constitution, including electoral rights.
