On Tuesday, November 29, 2022, the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies hosted a scientific conference on the "monkeypox" virus under the direction of Prof. Dr. Nawras Muhammad Shahid Aldahan, the university's chancellor. It was delivered by Assistant Professor Ali Abdul Razzaq Sa'eed Al-Sayegh, who introduced Mpox and discussed its causes, preventative strategies, and treatment options.

          Additionally, he clarified that Mpox is an animal-originated viral disease that spreads from animals to people.

The symposium's conclusion emphasized the importance of taking precautions, maintaining good health, and avoiding contact with diseased animals.
