The Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques at the College of Medical and Health Technologies at University of Alkafeel organized a workshop on "The Role of the JAK2/STAT3 Signaling Pathway in Tumorigenesis, Chemotherapy Resistance, and Treatment of Solid Tumors" on Sunday, November 19, 2023, in the seminar hall, delivered by Prof. Hamid Abdul Hussein Al-Tamimi. The workshop aimed to spread awareness and recommendations for using JAK2/STAT3 pathway inhibitors as part of cancer treatments. During the workshop, Al-Tamimi explained that the JAK2/STAT3 pathway is one of the most dangerous factors increasing cancer spread and creating resistance against chemotherapy treatments. Therefore, it is crucial to include supportive treatments that inhibit this pathway from excessively affecting the creation and spread of cancers in various tissues.
