The Lifelong Learning Unit at the College of Dental Medicine at University of Alkafeel held a scientific lecture on the risks of developing cardiovascular diseases "ASCVD" on Monday, 4/12/2023, lectured by Lecturer Furqan Hashim Hussein. He explained that "ASCVD" is an assessment tool used to estimate the likelihood of developing cardiovascular diseases in individuals, based on factors such as age, gender, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, previous history of heart diseases, and smoking. This information is collected to calculate a risk coefficient, which reflects the likelihood of developing cardiovascular diseases. This estimation is used in the medical field to make decisions about preventive interventions and improve personal health management. The ASCVD Estimator Risk Score represents an important step towards improving prevention and reducing the burden of cardiovascular diseases.
