The College of Engineering Technology at University of Alkafeel organized a scientific lecture on Saturday, 25 October 2025 : "Aligning with the Bologna Process: Best Practices and Lessons Learned in UK," presented by Asst.Prof.Dr. Nahed Al-Jabri from the University of Central Lancashire – United Kingdom.
The lecture aimed to introduce participants to the concept of the Bologna Process and its objectives in unifying higher education standards among European countries, and to review best British practices in applying its principles, thus contributing to the development of the quality of higher education in Iraqi academic institutions.
There was a detailed presentation of the principles and foundations of the Bologna Process, and its role in building flexible educational systems based on learning outcomes, quality assurance, and academic accreditation. The lecturer also reviewed the British experience in aligning curricula with the requirements of this process, highlighting the most important lessons learned that can be utilized in developing Iraqi curricula and enhancing their compliance with international standards.
The lecture was attended by a number of faculty members who participated in constructive discussions on ways to improve academic curricula and support the quality of education to keep pace with global developments in this field.
